Welcome to Donné Nel Occupational Therapy for optimal mind-body function
Donné is an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about the human ability to recover physical and psychological wellbeing through engagement in valued activity and life roles. Using a client-centred approach, she facilitates the process of helping people to live a meaningful life and achieve their individual goals, despite illness or injury.
Donné graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy. Her experience has included community work in the rural Eastern Cape, rehabilitation programs in the United Kingdom, and the treatment of patients in the private healthcare sector since her return to Cape Town in 2012. Donné endeavours to offer an individualised service to people who have physical and/or psychological conditions which disrupt their quality of life.
Donné has gained a high level of expertise in return-to-work intervention, including rehabilitation, case management and facilitating reintegration into the workplace. She has also developed an interest in chronic pain management, and has furthered her knowledge by obtaining a Certificate in Pain Management.
Donné has also explored the benefits of functional exercise, and completed a BASI Pilates Matwork course to qualify as a Pilates instructor. She attended Ergoscience training for functional capacity evaluation, and is a certified PGAP (Progressive Goal Attainment Program) provider.
